The Cave of the Cats (Óenach na Gath) also links to the tale of Nera, a warrior from Queen Medb’s army. On Samhain, Nera follows Otherworld creatures into the cave and enters Tír na nÓg, the Land of Eternal Youth. He warns Medb of an impending attack, enabling her army to raid the cave and claim treasures. Nera remains in the Otherworld, never returning.
