Adinkra Symbols

The process involves using traditional symbols made of calabash for stamping. Calabash, a gourd, was historically used for drinking palm water and holds cultural significance. The symbols, crafted from bamboo, carry meanings like faithfulness, leadership, and unity. Notable symbols include Jinya Me (God), Samkofa (returning to roots), and Year of Return. Each symbol represents a unique concept, and they’re used for body stamping, serving as a meaningful form of expression and connection to tradition.
