Cape Coast Fisherman Community

The southern part of Cape Coast is a fishing community with many boats belonging to fishermen. Over 85% of the population in this community relies on fishing as their livelihood. Fishermen go far out to sea and bring the fish back to the beach where women from the market buy them for public consumption. Kepko’s HCC was the capital city of Ghana from 1844 to 1877 before it was relocated to Accra.
