We are in the town of Ntonso and how locals make traditional Adinkra symbols using a dye made from the bark of a tree called Badia. The bark is pounded, soaked, boiled and refined over several days to create the dye. The symbols have different names and meanings for various occasions, including funerals. The natural dye is washable but stains unwashed clothing.
