Welcome to the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Center for Pan-African Culture in Ghana. Dr. Du Bois, a renowned Pan-Africanist, civil rights activist, writer, poet, and scholar, resided here in 1961. He was invited by Ghana’s first president, Osage Fokwame Nikoma, to edit the Encyclopedia Africana, which aimed to depict Africa beyond the boundaries of European colonization.
