We’re in Cape Coast’s fishing community, looking at the boats and how they’re made. The boats are built from powerful wood, including the locally-sourced Odum wood. They’re sealed using Abidjan glue to protect against water damage, and take around 1-2 months to complete. Some boats are bigger and require multiple people to build.
