Welcome to Cape Coast Slave Castle. Built in 1664 by the British, it is one of three slave castles in Ghana, the others being Elmina and Osu. This tour will take you through the male slave dungeon, the male condemned cell, the courtyard, the female dungeons, the female punishment cell, the Door of Return, the Door of No Return, the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (a church built by British slave merchants), and the residence of the British governor. Get ready for a sobering journey into history.
