In this center, we celebrate the vital roles of women in the life of Dr. Du Bois. He had two wives, Nina Gomer and a Shirley Graham, and two children with Nina, Burghardt Junior and Yolande, who tragically passed away. Their support and strength shaped his journey as a prominent civil rights leader.
